Beddington

Lead Mountain Trail

Type of Use: Hiking

Length: 1.5 miles
Difficulty Level: Difficult
Season: Spring to Fall

Parking Capacity: 1 to 5 vehicles

Directions to Site: From Rte #9 in Beddington, take dirt road next to Maine Forest Service Ranger Station. Road is immediately to the left, and marked with a "Lead Mountain Trail" sign. Travel approximately 1.5 miles to gate and sign at trailhead parking area.

Attractions & Comments: Trail is very steep, wide, heavily eroded tote road straight up the side of the mountain, and may be muddy and filled with loose rock. Not very good views from the top, and with all of the towers, buildings, and electronic equipment is not very natural.

Gaddis Pool Boat Launch

Directions to Site: Turnoff is on Rte # 1, the first left after East Machias Bridge headed north, and last right before the bridge headed south.

Attractions & Comments: Great salmon fishing spot. Canoes and Kayaks only.
