Columbia Union Church
Keywords: Architecture

Description: Built in 1829 or 1840, this church's exterior was remodeled in 1870, and the design reflects Greek Revival influence with it's triangular gabled pediment, wide cornice and corner pilasters. The Belfry also has corner pilasters and crenellation of its roof line. The windows and doors of the Columbia Union Church have interesting geometric framing. This was the Epping Baptist Church, before it became a Union Church, the first Baptist Church embodied east of the Penobscot river. On the National Register of Historic Sites.
