Guidelines
This program will provide
scholarships up to $500 for Washington County young adults (18-29), of
low-to-moderate income, who will be attending training and/or certification
program that will increase their opportunities for immediate employment or
job advancement. A limited amount of funds have also been set aside for
adults outside of this age group.
To be eligible for a scholarship,
applicants cannot be matriculated students enrolled in a college or
university, though the classes can be through a college or university. This
can be one class, such as a spreadsheet or word processing course, or a
short certification program, such as Certified Residential Medications
Aide. This program will not provide scholarships toward an Associate,
Bachelor, or higher degrees. The applicant must be able to show taking this
course/program will allow them access to immediate employment or job
advancement. Scholarships will not be considered for classes taken only for
self-enrichment. Funds can be used only for tuition.
